10-Year-Old Boy Saves His Mom’s Life With A 911 Call

Growing up, we learn a lot about what to do in case of an emergency. We’re told to “Stop, Drop, and Roll” in case we ever catch on fire. We’re urged not to talk to strangers or open the door for them when we’re home alone. And, perhaps, most importantly, we’re taught to call 911 in an emergency. All of these safety tips are good to know, but they’re only useful if you can remember them in the heat of the moment. Luckily for Coleen Villarreal, her son knew exactly what to do when he heard a strange noise coming from their garage.

Coleen was on her way out of the house, leaving her 10-year-old son, Jaxson, to watch the rest of his siblings while she was gone. But, before she could get very far, Jaxson heard something odd in their garage and decided to take a look. He discovered that his mother had fallen down, hit her head, and triggered a seizure. As she laid there on the garage floor unable to talk, Jaxson picked up the phone and dialed 911.

Instead of panicking, Jaxson kept calm and gave the dispatcher an accurate description of what was going on. “Throughout the entire call, he answered any questions we had … everything we needed to know he was able to tell us,” said one member of the Frisco Fire Department. Kids and adults everywhere could learn a thing or two from Jaxson when it comes to being brave in times of crisis.
